Vehicle part identification

Identifying what a component looks like is different from proving it is faulty or suitable for replacement. Tow2 can help discuss visible details without inventing part numbers.

Take a useful part photo

With the vehicle safely parked, photograph the component in context and a closer view of any readable label. Do not remove covers, disconnect wiring or reach into hazardous areas solely for a photograph. Mention year, make, model and the symptom that led you to inspect it.

Supported reference comparison

Relevant reports can show curated reference photos of batteries, brake discs, tires, spark plugs, socket tools and multimeters. A comparison of your uploaded image can explain visual similarities, differences or why the image is inconclusive. These are generic examples, not verified images for every vehicle.

  • Use clear lighting and more than one safe angle where helpful.
  • Keep readable markings but avoid unrelated personal information.
  • Expect unrelated or unclear images to require better evidence, not a fitment claim.

Confirm before buying or installing

A photograph cannot verify internal specifications, measurements, connector pinouts or model variants. Ask a supplier to verify the original number, approved replacement and vehicle configuration; manufacturer information takes priority over visual resemblance.

If the report has no relevant supported reference, Tow2 omits the photo instead of fabricating one. For safety-critical components, have a professional identify and assess the part.
